Morning Has Broken

Now that my online classes are over and I don’t have homework to do, nor pending translations, I found myself bored for some time today. It was my day off and I couldn’t decide what to do with the extra time. Sure I could have cleaned my house and organized paperwork, but of course I didn’t opt for that. Now that summer is just around the corner I’ve decided to find some new pastime activities to engage in. Perhaps I’ll visit the beach more often or enroll in a dance class. Whatever it is I decide to do, I am looking forward to making this a good and memorable summer.

My family celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday instead of today. We met at my mother’s and enjoyed great food and each other’s company for several hours. Gifts were small for all mothers present. While it might have been a simpler celebration, I think it was more heartfelt.

I continue to be single and without children. Although there is still time for me to become a mother, biologically speaking, I don’t know that it will happen. There is always the option of adoption, which I strongly support and think I would prefer personally. For now, my niece along with my 5 dogs, 4 cats and turtle are the recipients of my motherly tendencies.

To all those who have mothered me in one way or another, from raising me to mentoring me academically, thank you and my best wishes to you on this day.
