Morning Has Broken

I Am An Animal Rescuer

My job is to assist God’s creatures
I was born with the need to fulfil their needs
I take in new family members without plan, thought or selection
I have bought dog food with my last dime
I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand
I have hugged someone vicious and afraid
I have fallen in love a thousand times
and I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body

I have Animal Friends and friends who have Animal Friends
I don’t often use the word "pet"
I notice those lost at the road side
And my heart aches
I will hand raise a field mouse
And make friends with a vulture
I know of no creature unworthy of my time

I want to live forever if there aren’t animals in Heaven
But I believe there are!
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind?
We may be master of the animals,
But the animals have mastered themselves
Something people still haven’t learned

War and abuse make me hurt for the world
But a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for humankind
We are a quiet but determined army
And making a difference every day

There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan
Nothing more rewarding than saving a life
No higher recognition than watching them thrive
There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play
who only days ago, was too weak to eat

I am an Animal Rescuer
My work is never done
My home is never quiet
My wallet is always empty
But my heart is always full
In the game of life, I have already won!

Creo que no queda duda de lo adecuado que le queda el nombre Snoopy a mi perro.

Interesante nota sobre el placer que produce el chocolate, especialmente si se deja derretir en la boca en lugar de masticarlo.

Hola. Busco con quien compartir mis días. Mi dueño(a) anterior me corrió de su casa y me echó a la calle, donde deambulé solita por días. No me fue muy bien en esos días pero ya me estoy recuperando bastante bien. Unos voluntarios de Humane Society de Tijuana me están cuidando y ya hasta me llevaron a mi primer consulta con el veterinario, quien calcula que tengo 3 meses de edad. Me desparasitaron y me aplicaron medicina para que me recupere aún más rápido. Mientras consideras llevarme a vivir contigo, estoy aprendiendo a socializar tanto con humanos como con perros. La chaparrita que me cuida temporalmente tiene planes de entregarme ya esterilizada para que no te tengas que preocupar por los gastos y las molestias que conlleva el que yo llegue a tener cachorritos. Aunque soy juguetona, también soy tranquila de caracter. Ah y tengo un dedito adicional en cada una de mis patitas traseras. Apuesto que no has visto muchos perros con esta característica.

• Two pieces of a broken egg shell - How is the chick doing? What color is it?
• Five rose buds - I suspect red and white will adorn my window soon.
• Another course to teach - The last one was very rewarding. The surprise lunch, card (signed in Spanish!) and Godiva chocolates put a big smile on my face and tickled my heart.
• A shoulder to cry on - "Why don’t you call me and tell me, ‘hey, I want to cry.’?" May we exchange these words and this support for years to come, whatever may happen.
