Today…

  • I saw an image of my heart, stomach, liver and lungs. Should the x-ray hold bad news, which I hope it doesn’t, I will have seen a part of me that was otherwise obscure to me. It was a simple image, but it was enough to leave me in awe for a while.
  • I absorbed my blooming yellow mini rose. I didn’t have to approach it to appreciate its soft petals, bright, and yet soothing, color or sweet smell. All this was possible as I admired it from a distance. A ladybug would adorn its petals as beautifully as a wildflower held behind the ear of a woman’s naked figure.
  • I witnessed two sparrows contributing to the presence of more sparrows. How I wish I could be as fortunate as to see their chicks in a couple of weeks.
  • I realized how my handwriting has deteriorated. My heart and mind seem to speak too fast for my hand. She’s frustrated because she wishes her writing were prettier, like setting the table nicely with flowers and pretty napkins, instead of simply placing a plate and utensils on a clean surface.
  • I read three of Patrick Süskind’s short stories. I have one more to read in the book that was lent to me.
